CJ & Karissa Dayton, ME

Being a mother hits differently at weddings. When I first became a photographer I was not a mother. My husband and I had been trying but we weren't quite parents yet. Fast forward about 6 years and now I am a mother of 3 to 2 girls and 1 boy. There are SOOOOO many moments in a wedding that make me emotional and make me want to hold my babies closer when I get home. CJ & Karissa's weddings was DEFINITELY an emotional one for me.

One of the biggest things I loved about this wedding was how much they loved and honored their parents and grandparents. There were so many details that brought attention to all of them and it was such a beautiful thing to witness as a parent. It makes me hope that my children and I will have that same type of relationship when they're grown and getting married.

There were so many little details and I am going to try to list all of the little things they did for each other and their families to honor and show love.

  1. The bride gifted two pins with his grandparents who had passed away.

  2. The bride wore 3 pins on her bouquet to honor grandparents that had passed.

  3. The bride had customized gifts for her mother, mother-in-law, and father.

  4. There was a piece of her grandmothers wedding dress sewn into her dress with their anniversary on it. She also had her grandmothers wedding shoes showcased at the reception.

  5. The bride had her mom and dad walk her down the aisle.

  6. They had photos of family members who had passed away at their reception.

  7. The bride shared a special dance with her father AND mother.

  8. The groom's dance with his mother brought SERIOUS tears to my eyes. It was such a special bond and I literally cried when editing the photos too. You'll see what I mean below.

There were so many other pieces of their day that brought so much love and joy to my heart. I hope you can experience just a portion of it through these photos.

Congratulations!
