Sam & Juli Kittery, ME

Weddings don't have to be a grand affair to be something special. You don't have to go on a HUGE vacation to experience family time. You don't have to buy the biggest, most expensive ring for it to be meaningful. Money doesn't buy happiness.

This wedding was simple. I don't want you to read that and think I mean that it wasn't something special. It WAS special because the love is what made it such a beautiful day. Love is what matters.

These two started dating, fell in love, got engaged, and got married in their teen years (Sam is just barely out of his teens now to be fair...) There's something about young love that is just so special. I remember when I fell in love with my husband (we started dating at 16) that I didn't need to keep dating other guys to make sure he was the right one. I KNEW he was the right one even at 16. Marrying someone is more than just finding someone that you can fall in love with. Marrying someone and staying married to them is a choice that you have to make. Some days it's really easy and some days it's really hard, but that's what makes the marriage worth it. Love isn't just a feeling, it's a commitment even when it's hard.

It was a GORGEOUS day for their wedding. There was hardly a cloud in the sky. Both families worked together to pull this day off, in fact the venue was the groom's sister's backyard! It was so great to see all of their siblings help (and there are A LOT of siblings on both sides) to make this day what it was.

So, what can we take away from this blog post today?

  1. Money doesn't buy happiness.

  2. Love isn't just a feeling, it's a conscious choice you make to put someone else first EVEN WHEN IT'S HARD.

  3. Family matters.

Congratulations to these two on a beautiful day and the start of a wonderful marriage!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Simonds!
