Kurtis & Ashley Dayton, ME

I am a HUGE romantic. It is probably one of the biggest reasons I love being a wedding photographer. I love hearing stories of how a couple first met, when they said I love you, their engagement, and BEST OF ALL when I get to be there for their vows and first dance. Kurtis & Ashley's love story is dear to my heart because my husband and I were also high school sweethearts. I know what it's like to fall in love with someone at 16 and never fall out.

From the moment I got to the Air BnB for getting ready photos I felt like I was part of the family. Everyone was so kind and so happy that I was there for the big day! It felt like home away from home. Throughout the early moments of their day it was evident just how much these two love each other. They have gone through a lot in the past 10 years and it's always so incredible to see a couple make it through and become stronger together. It was really an honor for me to be able to document their love story on one of the most important days of their lives.

Some of my favorite moments from Kurtis & Ashley's wedding:

  1. The pizza truck! I love a nice dinner at a wedding, but I also love it when you can have something everyone loves like pizza or tacos. It's just so fun and makes everyone feel comfortable. THEN you add on that the pizza was made on site in an old truck that was turned into a pizza oven and bar. The pizza was AMAZING (especially the chicken parm and white pizza) and it made for such a fun and unique atmosphere that flowed throughout the day.

  2. The first touch! This is something I wish I had done with my husband when we got married almost 10 years ago. This wasn't really a thing back then (now I feel like I sound MUCH older than I am). They touched hands and read aloud the letters they wrote to each other. It was emotional and beautiful and I was so glad they had a videographer there to document those moments.

  3. The party! Being a musician I can be really critical of DJs. I still have a good time at weddings with bad DJs, but I have an especially good time at weddings with great DJs. This DJ rocked at one of my best friend's weddings years ago and it was awesome to party with him again. The wedding was a BANGER and everyone had such a good time. You'll see in the photos the fun we all had.

Congratulations once again to Kurtis & Ashley! Many blessings to you as you begin this journey together.
